About PARCEO: PARCEO is a community research, resource, and education center. We partner with a range of groups and institutions to strengthen our collective work for justice. PARCEO's work is rooted in a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework, which values the experience, knowledge, and leadership of those most impacted by injustice as we collectively work for transformative change and to build community strength. As part of its work, PARCEO has partnered in developing a number of social justice curricula geared toward universities and k-12 schools, social justice and community-based organizations, foundations, religious and cultural institutions, and others. Two are outlined here:

Curriculum on Antisemitism from a Framework of Collective Liberation. Together with educators, historians, and organizers, PARCEO created the “Curriculum on Antisemitism from a Framework of Collective Liberation.” The curriculum is devoted to understanding antisemitism (what it is and what it is not) and challenging it grounded in a deep commitment to justice and dignity for all people.

The Palestinian Nakba curriculum. PARCEO has partnered with Project48 to create The Palestinian Nakba curriculum. The curriculum offers the opportunity to learn about the robust Palestinian society that existed prior to the Nakba (catastrophe), the critical events leading up to and during 1948, and a prism through which to understand the ongoing nature of the Nakba and its impact on Palestinian lives.

“I have worked with PARCEO for many years, inviting them to do workshops and presentations in my graduate and undergraduate women’s and gender studies classrooms, and for the Syracuse
University campus community. PARCEO offers both a conceptual framework and a methodology for participants interested in strengthening their social justice work and sustaining equitable partnerships with community groups. I find their NAKBA curriculum especially compelling given the politics of occupation and settler colonialism at this time. PARCEO’s commitment to social justice issues and anti-racist, feminist activist pedagogy offers analytic tools and concrete skills to create new publics and radical literacies based on engaging with communities in holistic, respectful, and meaningful ways. It is this liberatory pedagogy that has been transformative for participants. PARCEO’s work is invaluable in the U.S. academy.” –
